JOB TITLE: SCHOOL SAFETY OFFICER (SSO)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a certified officer on a city or county police/sheriff department.
- Must be commissioned as a law enforcement officer
- Must have extensive knowledge of the law.
- Minimum of three years experience in law enforcement.
- Must have knowledge of the court system and presentation of evidence in court proceedings.
REPORTS TO: Principal & Superintendent
JOB DUTIES:
- Works in conjunction with the school administration in the investigation and due process of serious discipline incidents.
- Assists other law enforcement officers with outside investigations concerning students attending the school system.
- Supervises a school campus while armed
- Enforces school rules
- Monitors visitors
EMPLOYMENT: To be employed whenever school is in session
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated semi-annually by the Principal |
